God Is Not Through With Us Yet

Several women joined me for a virtual journey this month called – Down the Path of Worthy.  This week marks our final trek.

We have only begun to scale back the pieces of our worthiness during this journey.  There is so much more work that we need to do.  We have found out that it is not an easy task walking back to places in our lives that have caused us pain.  But we had to go there in order to re-write the scripts of our lives back to the original content that God had written for us before we were even a thought in our mother’s womb.

We have realized that this process of finding our true worth in God was more exhausting than we thought it would be.  But we are dedicated to reaching the place that we most desire and that is figuring out our purpose and destiny.

Sometimes the emotional journey is too much and we have to rest along the way.  It’s okay, we understand that we have to press to reach the top of the place that we want to be.   We have to dig deep!  We trek on!  We won’t stop here we will push ourselves with the strength that God gives us to make a difference in our lives and the lives that we touch.

We are not convinced that everyone will understand the process but we hope that all will trust it.  We share this experience because it is the very thing that has helped us; it is our testimony for others to know that it can be done.  God can and will turn our ashes into beauty!

We encourage all women to join us in this journey of a lifetime.  It is not about changing our habits, but it is about transforming our lives for a better life that God has ordained for us to live.

Be encouraged, God is not through with us yet!

The Journey Day 5

On Day 5 we had to trek up a steep hill.  So we grabbed some protein bars and plenty of water, took a deep breath and made our way.

Today we had to really dig deep and we were not sure what we would find, but we needed to go deep inside ourselves.  We had to communicate how we were evaluating our worth.  We had to share what were some of the temporal things that we were connecting our worth to.

Many of us had a hard time with this one and it took us awhile to get to the top of that hill.  It was a daunting task.  Again, we had to go over that hill in order to reach our next destination on the path to worthy.

The butterfly’s journey is not an easy one.  When we see the beauty of the butterfly and amaze at its ability to be free to fly and dance among the flowers of the field, we fail to realize the journey that it had to take to get to that scene.  It has to change.  In its process it actually liquefies while in the cocoon so that it can become what it is intended to be!

That is where our journey took us on this day.  We had to look deep inside for all the flawed ways that we have equated our worth.  We are so used to connecting our worth with temporal things of the world which may be counter productive to the way that God values our worth.  Because of years of evaluating ourselves that way it is hard to then change.

This exercise was super important to this pivot part of our journey.  This is the part where the scales on our eyes can start being removed and in turn we can begin our transformation to our “true” worth and purpose!

Keep moving we will meet you there!

The Journey Part I

Today a group of adventurous women have set out on their “butterfly” journey!  Our first trek is “Down the Path of Worthy”; were we are seeking clarity and understanding of what our “true” worth is.  Until we understand this foundational point we will not understand our purpose.

We live in a world full of things to connect our worth to, but unfortunately those things are not our “true” worth nor do they hold any substance.  They are temporal and once they fade away then our worth goes along with it.

That is why it is so important to understand what God ordained as our worth.  The way He classifies us as worthy is much more than anything or anyone in this world.  It is of an eternal substance and will not wither away with the passing of time.

Our “true” worth is directly connected to our purpose.  So once we understand that pivotal point we are well on our way to understanding our destiny!  There is no better feeling than to walk in one’s destiny!  Until you are walking in your destiny your life is ordinary and feels like it has no basis.  Do you ever ask yourself what is it all for?  Waking up, going to work/school, back home to start all over again.  If God created you don’t you believe He had something marvelous in mind for your life?

Well He does, but you need to get deep into the things of Him to understand  and start living it.  That is what the butterfly journey is all about.  This month is only the beginning of a series of journeys that we will take.  There is a definite process to finding your true destiny.

I pray that you will join us on one or all of the journeys as we discover life!

Come Journey With Us!

Well autumn will officially be here next week!  I love this time of year, when the air is crisp and cool.  The trees begin to change colors and the earth is preparing to go to sleep for the winter.  I love the seasons of change.

Years ago, my mother spoke at a women’s retreat about the seasons of ones life path and it was amazing!  Some of those attendees still stop her on the street and tell her how that message impacted their lives.

So we, (The Butterfly Journey Ministry) have decided that it is time to begin our journey of change.  In the month of October we will guide you on a 30 day virtual journey called “Down the Path of Worthy”.  We are excited about what the Lord is going to do in our lives.  Each day each participant will receive a journal exercise to complete and explore.  Along our journey we will find the understanding of our “true” worth.  We will collect treasures of wisdom that only God can show us.  It’s going to be amazing!  Once you find your worth, your purpose is just around the corner!

Please consider traveling with us.  In order to get your ticket, please register on our website www.thebutterflyjourney.com and put “I’m on my journey!” in the comments section.  This is one trip you won’t want to miss!

September

I love September!  Not only is it my birth month, but it is the time of harvest.  For farmers and gardeners this is the time to reap what they have sown into the ground.  It is literally the fruit of their labor.

In the spirit we also sow and reap.  Whether it’s good or bad.  We will all reap what we have sown into our spirits.  As one of my good friends and I were talking the other day she reminded me that I have planted seeds of faith into the spirit  and one day I will reap a harvest!  I got excited about that!  What will my fruit look like?  Will it be desirable to the eye and satisfying or will it be rotten and of no use?

As I finish up my first book, I want the words to be seeds that are planted in the hearts of hurting women near and far.  I want it to reap a harvest of healing and purpose for each person that reads it.  I have to continue to remind myself that sharing my deepest pain is not about me, but it is all about God and His healing grace.  It is about the women who will read it and feel motivated to press on to see what the future holds.  It is for that person who feels unworthy and unloved to understand their true worth in Christ.  It is for the ones who desire to live out their purpose.

So I won’t make anymore excuses that I don’t have enough time to finish the book in 2011.  I will make every effort to finish this book of seeds so that they will be planted and grow and reap a harvest of righteousness for God’s sake, not mine.

What are you sowing into your life today?  Are they seeds of goodness and love or are they seeds of discord and unrighteousness?  What will your harvest look like come harvest time?

Losing Myself to Find Myself

The darkness was intense.  The eerie soundless space was unnerving.  It was as if all living things had disappeared.  I found myself drowning in a pit of sadness and loneliness for over 730 days of pure torment.  This place of depression had stolen my life as I once knew it and there was nothing that I could do.

As unbearable as it was at the time, I wouldn’t change anything; because out of my pit of despair came life.  When God delivered me from the shame and pain of the place I found myself in, I was different.  I was not the same anymore.

He showed me that through this process, although painful, made me useful for His purpose.  Once healed I am able to share my story with other hurting women and help them on their journey to wholeness.  I found my “true” self.

Now I have hope and purpose!  I have the understanding of who I really am and whose I am.  I no longer have to conform to the people or situations around me that pull out all of my good for their own purposes.  And leave me empty and useless to myself and God.

God I am grateful for losing my worldly self to find my “true” worthy self in you.

It is true it is a process and your journey might not look exactly like mine, but nonetheless it is a process for whatever you are going through.  But you must: 1. embrace your journey, 2. self-discovery – understand your role in the mess of your life, 3. seek your worth from the one who made you (God), 4. repent and change by building a new relationship with God 5. understand and pursue your purpose.
