Growing through life, there is always a lesson to be learned. But only if you are wise enough to seek it.
Often, we don’t see hardships or uncomfortable situations as lessons, but they are lessons all the same. If we are curious enough to learn from them, we can not only conquer them but also experience true growth and maturity.
That’s what I desired when I walked through the healing process from my spiritual depression. I wanted to know why I ended in a depressive state, especially when I knew God.
Here are three lessons I learned while writing my book, “The Butterfly’s Journey”.
- I knew God, but my intimacy level with Him was not where it should’ve been. I didn’t have the reverential fear or holy fear that He deserves, because after all, He is the sovereign God, the Creator of the universe.
- I didn’t understand my worth. I thought I had to do whatever to please others. And in the midst of pleasing others, I totally lost myself. Plus, I almost lost my eternal inheritance from God.
- God’s redeeming grace and unconditional love. When I look back on this period of my life, the things I allowed to happen in me and through me were horrible. My actions grieved the Lord, and I felt ashamed. But His grace, hallelujah, was there to help me back up and gave me another chance to get it right.
No matter where you are on your journey, I want to remind you that you are not alone. God is always there with you, even if He seems silent. Just know that you are not too far away that God can’t reach you. But we must have a desire to turn (repent) and come back to God, so that He can heal our brokenness and turn our lives into beautiful ones, as He intended.
Be blessed,
