Staying focused is one thing, but getting focused is another. When I realized that I wanted (needed) a change in my life, I didn’t know where to start.
So I decided why not write a life plan for every area of my life. It is designed like a business plan which includes a mission and vision statement.
The plan will allow you to laser in on the changes or goals at hand. It should be a fluid document as sometimes you change in your thought process or you are still finding out exactly what your life should look like. That is fine, this is your life plan, so no one can say that it’s wrong or right but you. Essentially the plan should give you a definite plan of action.
I use my plan to make decisions about my life. If a task or project falls within the goals that I am trying to accomplish then it may be something for me to consider. For example I want to build my marketing business, so when the commission that I am a part of asked for someone to step up to chair the Marketing/PR committee, I didn’t even hesitate. This experience will not only help the group reach it’s goals, but it will give me exposure to the very thing that I want to develop in.
You have to start with a plan, a roadmap of where you are and where you want to be and all the steps in between that will get you there.
Life with a purpose is more enjoyable to live.
