Yesterday I was overwhelmed.  Today I am less overwhelmed.  Tomorrow I hope to be more balanced.

You know by now that one of my favorite sayings is; go to the source of my creation – God.  That is exactly what I did when I was feeling overwhelmed with all that I wanted to accomplished.  God gave me revelation almost instantly, as I opened my email and there was a newsletter entitled “Overwhelmed?”  Needless to say I jumped right on it and read every word.

The newsletter said to manage your big projects, one item at a time.  God also told me to focus.  He said know your vision and your destiny so focus on that; if anything comes to take you off course let it go.

That’s why companies have vision and mission statements.  It helps them stay on the course of who and what they said they want to be.  It is their roadmap to an expected end.  Others things might be great and exciting but they are detours that will take you away from your destination.

This revelation made everything clear for me.  Now I know to line up everything else to my destiny and if it doesn’t take me closer to it, than it is taking me away from it and that is not an option!

Stay the course!

The Butterfly Journey – Lisa

Pastor Joel Osteen has a great book out called It’s Your Time.  It was so inspiring that I bought 10 copies and gave to friends and family.  Hopefully, it gave them new energy to seek out their true purpose in life.

The reason it was so inspiring is more about the timing in which I read it more than the words that he says.  Because most of what is written was nothing new that I had not heard over the years in my life.  But it was something about the timing of when I read the book that stirred something inside of me.  It ignited a fire within me that was laying dormant for years.  But God said; “it’s your time”!

I believe that God is saying it is our time for the “true” church to rise up and help the hurting people of the world.  People all around us, even in our families are suffering with life and don’t know where to turn, but we have the answer. . .God.  But how will they ever know if you and I continue to be complacent in our walk of faith? In our life’s purpose?

I believe that it is YOUR time.  It’s time to move out from the mundane life and into a life of purpose.  If you are anything like me, I got tired of the same old life, I knew God had something greater for me.  But until I sought after it, I continued to walk around broke, busted, and disgusted with myself.

Every since God showed me who I am, my worth in Him, and the job that He wanted me to accomplish, I feel so FREE!  I feel purposeful and passionate.  I feel like I am really living!

I have talked a lot about purpose, destiny, and living out your true life.  The reason this is so heavy on my heart is that I have finally begun to live my best life.  God showed me exactly why I was created, the purpose of my existence.  Until then I didn’t know what real living was.  I am so excited to share this feeling with whom ever I meet.

It is such a wonderful feeling to get up in the morning and know your purpose.  To know exactly what you were put on this earth to do.  To make a difference in the world, whether it is in the small circle where you live or if it is a larger territory of the world.  It is worth it.

It took me a long time to reach this place of completeness, a place of purpose, but I am so glad that I am finally here.  And  I want to share it with everyone I talk to.  My desire is to stir up enthusiasm in every person that I meet and help them reach their full potential in life.  There is no greater satisfaction for me.  This is my purpose.  This is my destiny.

I thank God everyday for allowing me to live my life to the fullest.  He has taken my life  from ordinary to extraordinary and I am having the time of my life!

The Butterfly Journey – Lisa

As I began to write my current book about my encounter with depression, I found out that a lot of women, especially Christian women, were suffering from some sort of hurt.  A deep wound of some sort and it astonished me.

But why are we hurting, when we have the victory in Jesus?  Why are we walking around with a smile on our faces and inside we are broke, busted, and disgusted?  I believe it begins with going back to the basics of who we are and what we believe.

Do you remember the child-like faith you had when you first became a Christian?  How you depended on God for everything?  We have gotten so systematic in our worship that we stray away from asking God to enter into our lives.  We can’t walk this road of life without Him and yet in still we try to and fail and end up depressed like I did.

My book takes you through my place of depression, the self-discovery of how I ended up there, and the healing that God gave me.  I was grateful for just being healed and then God did one other thing, showed me the true purpose of my life.

Living out my true destiny has been the best thing I have ever experienced!  I feel like I am truly living now!  Get back to the basics of your journey with God and see what He will do for you.

Trust is a huge part of any relationship.  Essentially you can’t have a solid relationship with anyone without it.

As we live our lives we experience different situations in different relationships and those experiences become our measure of trust.  You hear people say all the time I have trust issues.  It means they have put together all of the experiences they have had and base their level of trusting others to the past relationships.

It is a dangerous position to be in because if you always judge each new relationship with the past you will never give an opportunity to someone who may actually be trustworthy.  This type of viewpoint will invade your future relationships and not allow you to fully experience a new level of trust.

I know that I can trust God, His record is flawless when it comes to trust.  He is faithful through and through.

Cultivate a new level of trust in new relationships and base your view by what you actual experience and not on your past.

Faith is believing even when you don’t see any evidence.  Faith is when you don’t have the answers.  Faith is trusting in God that He will do what He promised He would do.

A friend of mine sent me a picture of a woman blindfolded walking off the side of the shore into the water, but faintly on the other side was God with His hand held out for her to step onto.  The vision was so compelling to me that it moved me to think about my own level of faith.  Where was it?

I have always had the strong desire to be an entreprenuer.  To create a business that I enjoyed and that served a purpose. For some odd reason  the idea of creating my own vision and destiny was very appealing to me.  I never had the nerve to move forward, but I knew I had the passion to do it.

Well now that I am completing this life make-over, the feeling has come back stronger than ever.  I have always worked with people creating their dream business, helping them excel and loving the feeling of being a part of someone’s journey.  But now I feel it is my time to try it for myself.

All of it is an unknown for me because I have never tried it.  Am I crazy to try something so risky in this economy?  I don’t think so, because I know God and if I commit myself to Him, he said that He would give me the desires of my heart.

I have a great idea for a service that I want to offer; I have the skills and what I don’t have I will develop.  Sometimes others may not see your dream as clear as you.  Some people need to see the facts and the figures and the promise that everything will work according to plan.  That’s not faith.  Noah probably looked crazy to his friends too, talking about it’s going to rain for 40 days and 40 nights and flood the earth!  But he kept on building the ark even though he saw no sign of rain.  He had faith in what God had told him.

Just think if you never try, you will never know.  I don’t know which is worse, never trying or trying and actually making it!  I’m going to take the step, are you coming?

I had a wonderful conversation with my boyfriend the other day about relationships.  It is hard for women to understand relationships unless they have the insight of the other party.  Too often we don’t understand each other’s thoughts or intentions.  We need to open that door of communication and we can learn a lot about each other that will be beneficial.

For far too long as women we have suffered heartache and pain due to a failing relationship.  We come away broken and hurt but we never try to find out what a good relationship looks like.  We don’t communicate well and we allow things to be done to us that are less than desirable.  We compromise ourselves, we view ourselves as not deserving,  and let’s be real we lower our standards just to have a companion.

Why do we do this?  I am no expert but I have had my share of questionable relationships.  I decided to figure this thing out instead of continuing to go down the same path each time looking for different results.  My boyfriend has taught me a lot about relationships from a man’s point of view.  It was enlightening!  It has given us a firm foundation for our relationship to grow on.  We both love God and that is the most important ingredient to have.

God made relationships so the concept is wonderful, when it lines up to what God intended it to be.  It’s when we decide that we know better than God and go our own way and pick a mate that is not quite suitable for us that we see the problems grow.

One of the things that I have learned about relationships is mostly about me not the other person.  You have to know you, love you, and understand who you are in order to share your life with someone else.  Once you get a true sense of who you are then you are better equipped to recognize the best mate for you.  How do you figure YOU out?  Once again go to the source of your creation – God.  If you are a believer in God then you will soon realize that all things go right back to Him.

So instead of trying everything under the sun to figure out the right partner for you, let God do it.  It is much easier, more exciting, and very enjoyable!  If you have been in a dead-end relationship and are now free of it, then take some time to evaluate yourself.  Take time to understand and love you before you seek another relationship.

The results will amaze you and then you will be ready to engage in a relationship again.  Give yourself time for you, and your dreams, and aspirations and at the right time God will let you see new possibilities for a relationship.

Trust me on this one, God will not send you any junk!

I was on a wonderful conference call last night and the topic of the evening was “knowing your worth”.  I am so in tuned to that topic because for years I took care of everyone around me and never took the time to take care of – ME.

When I got sick I couldn’t even muster up the strength to doing anything for myself and I felt alone.  It is extremely important to understand your worth.  Even if your life situations aren’t good and the world seems against you, remember this…

God made you; “fearfully and wonderfully”, you’re just like a rare gem to Him!

So take some time for YOU and do something special for yourself, after all you deserve it.

The Butterfly Journey – “Transforming lives from ordinary to extraordinary”! Lisa

For the butterfly change is natural.  It doesn’t have to think about it, it just happens at the appropriate time.  But for us humans change doesn’t come so easy.  The word of God says that if we are in Christ we are new creatures.  What does that mean?  It means that if we give ourselves to God we will take on the mindset of Christ.  Our thinking, our faith, our being changes from what it used to be.

This process is a choice for us, we need to understand the changes that we need to make in order to live a life that God has predestined for us; a life that is full of promise, joy, and prosperity.  We get caught up on what all those things look like to God.  It is not measured by the world’s standards so it can be hard to comprehend.

But don’t worry, God will show you exactly what to do.  He has been transforming lives from ordinary to extraordinary for years!

In my last post I talked about having a partner to come along side of you for your life’s journey, but what about finding the right partner with the right answers to your many questions?

I am on a journey to complete a life make-over.  I need to change every aspect of my life so that I can be fulfilled with this one life that I have.  It can be a daunting task; what part of your life do you begin with, how long will it all take?  This task led me to the infamous saying; “how do you eat an elephant, one bit at a time?”

So how do you find the right roadmap to take for your new life, who can you ask?  I have many loving people surrounding me that all have answers for my new life, but as loving as they all are, they have me more confused now than ever.  They mean well but let’s face it, they have no more information about my life than I do.  They don’t know the full picture of what my life is supposed to look like.

I decided to go directly to the source of my creation for answers – God!  To me He is the only one who knows my life’s plan already and has all the answers to help me find the “true” way for my life’s make-over.  I know I can trust Him to give me the right direction to take.

If you ever feel overwhelmed with decisions to make and don’t know who to turn to, try God because He loves you more than anyone and He has the true answers that you need.
